Whitelisting Knowby URLs for Corporate Users Behind Proxy Servers
To ensure seamless access to Knowby for users operating behind corporate proxy servers, firewalls, or network security appliances, the following domains must be whitelisted. Failure to do so may prevent users from logging in, creating or editing knowbys, or accessing public knowbys.
Required Knowby Domains
The following Knowby domains should be marked as safe / allowed in your proxy or firewall configuration:
Primary application domains
- knowby.co - Knowby Website
-
knowby.pro - Knowby Pro application
-
knowby.studio - Knowby Studio – create and edit knowbys
-
knowby.show -Public knowby viewing
-
*.knowby.io - Knowby API services
Supporting Knowby services (subdomains of knowby.io)
-
job.knowby.io
-
translation.knowby.io
-
media.knowby.io
-
studio.knowby.io
-
generator.knowby.io
-
pro.knowby.io
-
identity.knowby.io
Important: All *.knowby.io domains are Knowby-owned API and backend services.
Inter-Domain Communication Requirements
In environments where outbound traffic is tightly restricted or where explicit domain-to-domain communication rules are enforced:
-
knowby.pro and knowby.studio must be allowed to communicate with all *.knowby.io domains.
This is required for authentication, media handling, translations, background jobs, and core application functionality.
Verification
Once whitelisting is complete, confirm that users can:
-
Log in to Knowby Pro successfully
-
Create and edit knowbys in Knowby Studio
-
View and share public knowbys
-
Upload and view media without errors
